Basic Mediation Skills and Process (general mediation training)

In-person at the Fairfax County Government Center (specific details provided after registration)

Trainer: Gina D’Andrea Weatherup

Cost: $1,625  ($100 discount to those who pay in full)

This 4-day intensive training provides students with a deeper understanding of conflict, approaches to conflict, and the core communication skills used by mediators. It meets the requirements to become certified as a mediator in Virginia, if paired with additional training and mentorship.

This highly interactive, in-person training also offers students the opportunity to observe a mediation, and to co-mediate at least twice, participating in four role-plays in total. Build skills in facilitative mediation, get practical hands-on experience, and learn to use reflective listening to resolve conflicts.

This training is also a comprehensive introduction to mediation for practitioners of other ADR services.
